RUSS 1001 Elementary Russian I 4 Credits

This introductory course is a study of functional Russian, with emphasis on speaking and writing the language. The Cyrillic alphabet, basic sentence structure, and grammar will be taught. The course includes intensive work on pronunciation and stresses the use of the language through simple conversations, readings, and written exercises. The course will also familiarize students with the culture and landscapes of Russia and countries of the former USSR.
